Stephanie Brant is a multidisciplinary artist and poet born in Reading, Berkshire, now based in Surrey, England. Working across painting, drawing, sculpture and text, her practice explores the human condition through abstraction, symbolism, and visceral intuition.

An outsider artist, Stephanie creates from lived experience, shaped by neurodivergence, disability and the enduring impact of domestic abuse. Her work arises from what she describes as psychological exile: the complex terrain between identity, silence and reclamation. Through raw gesture and recurring motifs, Stephanie transforms fragments of memory and emotion into visual language, asserting art as both survival and self-authorship.

Stephanie’s practice often merges historical influence with contemporary sensibility, giving her work a timeless yet intimate quality. Raised in the 1980’s and 1990’s, before neurodiversity was commonly understood, she found early creative refuge in illustrated encyclopaedias and Observer books, their imagery forming the foundation of her artistic voice and lifelong fascination with observation and interpretation.

In an increasingly digitised and AI mediated world, Stephanie values authenticity, tactility and human presence. Her work stands as a testament to creative sovereignty, a quiet rebellion against erasure and a reassertion of the self through making.

Stephanie Brant continues to expand her artistic practice and presence within the contemporary art scene, offering work that is at once deeply personal and universally resonant.
