Andy Jouan’s art shows him taking a personal journey of self development and discovery. Originally coming from a musical dynamic, his journey turned into an exploration of artistic potential and a desire to develop his artistic subjects. His work mostly expresses our place in nature and subsequently ‘time’, doing multiple series about seasonal changes and applying that to the aspect of ‘life as a whole’.
Andy has occupied two amazing studio spaces where he’s been able to explore nature and collaborations with other artists, one while living for several years near the beach in Bournemouth and more recently in Southeast London having returned to London in 2020.
More recently, with the lockdowns and pandemic having been a challenge, like it has been for most artists, Andy’s still managed to spend some time at the studio and develop his work in a more environmental, thoughtful space, looking at important global issues and our avoidance of them.
